Everex Cloudbook

In my quest to be green, mobility is a must. When my old laptop became a burden to travel with, I went in search of a replacement. I needed something lightweight and small enough to accomodate my bicycle travel, and at the same time be user friendly for the not-so-computer savvy. I asked around and did some research before I settled on the Cloudbook by Everex.
This computer brings new meaning to the convenience and portability of laptops. Being only 2.2lbs. it is easy to throw in my purse and be on my way. Gone are the days of having to choose between lugging around my heavy laptop, or getting stranded without it completely. This machine is durable enough that I can throw it in my backpack for a day hike without worrying about damaging it.
The screen, although small at a mere 8.9 inches, has great resolution with its LED backlit display. It took a little adjusting to get used to the touch pad and mouse buttons in the upper corners of the base, and the smaller sized keyboard, but once I got used to it, I fell in love. The built in webcam, smartdisk port, and speakers are extra aspects that enhance the versatility. Other features include 1.2 GHz Via C7-M Processor, 1 GB RAM, 30 GB Hard Drive, and gOS Escape Pod 2.9M Operating System. While I do use the Cloudbook as my sole computer, the limited memory makes this machine more suited for those of us looking for a laptop to surf the web, take to class for notes, or use as a second computer for travel.

The only glitch I have come across so far was a difficulty with tech support not knowing the deitailed dimensions of the power cord. Unfortunately they were no help in that department, but it was an obscure request on my part, which really should not affect the average consumer. Overall I have been very happy with the performance of the Cloudbook. Check out the photos and link below for more infomation on the Cloudbook and other Everex products.
